Beauty and The Beast

The Disney adaption of the classic French fairytale about inner beauty is also a version that doesn't stray too far from the original.

In the original fairytale, the Beast releases a homesick Beauty to go visit her family on the condition she returns in a week. Both versions have roses playing an important role, a cursed prince who must find love as a beast, and a beautiful girl unaware of her looks and only interested in books.

When her sisters hear of this, they display some sisterly love and try and get her to stay, in the hope that an angry Beast would eat her alive upon her return.

Also in the fairytale, Beauty — who also happens to be half-fairy — and the Beast turned out to be cousins.
